He’s a perfect fit to guide the Maryland Democratic Party’s “One Maryland” campaign.”

“Mark Shenton comes to us with a career worth of experience in computer and internet technology and he’s been plugged into local Maryland campaigns for decades,” says Cryor.

Quincey Gamble joins the Maryland Democratic Party after working as the Regional Political Director for the MD/DC Division of SEIU 1199 where he managed a $2 million political budget and turned SEIU into one of the strongest political forces in the region. Under his leadership the health care workers local helped to elect Governor Martin O’Malley, Comptroller Peter Franchot and DC Mayor Adrian Fenty. He also directed SEIU’s efforts to pass smoke-free legislation and improve health care services in the nation’s capital. Previously, Quincey served as a Regional Director of the Howard Dean for America presidential campaign in South Carolina. As Lead Constituency Organizer for America Coming Together (ACT) in Minneapolis, MN, his plan to register, engage and mobilize voters produced an 18 percent increase in voter turnout.

Mark Shenton began his lifelong political activism as a teenager, working on the senate campaign of then Congressman Paul Sarbanes. A Democratic Central Committee member from Anne Arundel County and founding member of his local Democratic club (District 30) his grassroots experience includes multiple local and presidential campaigns. Mark recently retired from a major telecomm firm where he was an IT manager for over 20 years. Mark joins the Maryland Democratic Party under the direction of the Democratic National Committee’s “State Partnership Program” also known as the “50 State Strategy.”

“Since the 2006 elections our plan has been to put the right team in place and build on our strength and success,” says Cryor. “We have money in the bank and we’re adding talent to an already experienced political team to grow our ranks throughout Maryland for 2008 and beyond. ‘One Maryland’ isn’t just hype; it’s what we’re building for the future.”
